On September 9, 2007 Angus Cater set sail from the Hamble to sail his 45 ft yacht Harrac to Smith Island in the South Shetlands to climb Mount Foster in memory of Bill Tilman and Simon Richardson who attempted the same feat in 1977. Simon Richardson was Angus' friend. It is anticipated the trip will last 8 months.

This website along with Yachtplot.com will keep you informed of the current status of the Smith Island Expedition 2007/8. Smith Island is (63 degrees South, 63 degrees West), in the South Shetlands. It has been created by Angus Cater to provide information about the expedition to family, prospective crew members, sponsors, schools, and other interested parties.
